Adult Dependent Relative

You may be eligible for indefinite leave to remain if you have a family visa as an adult dependent relative. This visa is for people being cared for by a relative in the UK.

You must be the parent, grandparent, son/daughter or brother/sister of the relative looking after you. The relative must be settled (or settling) in the UK and have enough money to support you without relying on public funds for at least 5 years from the date you entered the UK as an adult dependent relative. You must also demonstrate that as a result of age, illness or disability require long term personal care from the said relative to perform everyday tasks. You must be unable to obtain the required level of care in the country where you are living, even with the financial help of the sponsor because either the care is not available and there is no person in that country who can reasonably provide it or the care is not affordable.

You do not need to prove your level of English or pass the Life in the UK Test.

If successful, you will be granted indefinite leave to enter the UK.
